The Trapdoor Buddy is a security device to prevent unauthorised entry through a ceiling trapdoor. These devices typically comprise security gates for external doors, burglar proofing for windows, infrared monitors for detecting motion, local and remote alarm systems and electric fencing. Once inside the roof, the ceiling trapdoor provides the intruder with a passageway to silently enter and exit the premises. Some people have devised methods of locking their trapdoors so as to prevent unauthorised access. However, many of these methods are impractical and unattractive.
