Sandblasting vinyl can be removed should you become tired of the design or pattern whereas traditional sandblasting is permanent. As with any other glass surfaces, sandblasted areas are fairly simply to maintain. Follow up with a good wipe down of hot clean water to eliminate possible soap residue. Sandblasting is the process of using an aluminium compound in a machine similar to a vacuum, but instead of vacuuming, the machine blows the particles onto the surface to roughen it and make it appear matte. Clear window glass will appear a whitish, but opaque colour. Dark granite will still appear as granite but the roughened surface will be more prominent and may appear slightly lighter than the smoother surface. Sandblasting is fully washable and is resistant to most chemicals. Do remember that some ichy-dirt may require and different kind of cleansing than others, and do so accordingly. Please do take caution when cleaning special surfaces such as Granite and Marble as some of them will dull with the use of certain chemicals. Always check with your manufacturer or installer on care instructions for these surfaces! Sandblasting vinyl has to be joined if your glass is larger than 1.2m whereas traditional Sandblasting has no limitations when it comes to the size of the glass. We can create custom designs for both Sandblasting vinyl and traditional Sandblasting. Our traditional Sandblasting is dustless allowing us to sandblast indoors. Sandblasting vinyl is quicker to install and also adds a form of protection should the glass break.
