MAXLITE is 25 year old company advising on solar related products. MAXLITE Maxmeter is a solar fee-for-service management system. MAXLITE Solar Home Systems have been around for 10 years. The WATERLITE range of Solar water heaters was included to our solar offering in 2006. As a well established company, MAXLITE solar products are generally designed by MAXLITE staff. The MAXI-MED vaccine refrigerator is registered and approved by the South African health department.

Our Solar Water Heaters are specifically designed & manufactured locally by us for our AFRICAN conditions. WaterLite Solar Water Heaters caters for both flat and pitched roof options & we manufacture Compensation Frames for those houses that don’t have north facing roofs. MaxLite has registered a patent for which they believe is a world first solar water heater fitted with a plastic water storage tank. The tank and outer skin of this unique system is produced entirely from polyethene. The need for such a system stems from the shortage of products compliant with SABS installation and system standards. Currently many South African suppliers manufacture and supply systems with a design which originates in the East. The so-called low pressure systems as seen all over the country are not designed for the South African SABS water piping reticulation design. Poor water quality is one reason why geysers rust and fail, the other is poor quality product. Water quality in many areas cannot be guaranteed and for this reason we have our baby in the WaterLite range. SABS standards are often upgraded to suit the changing times. Multiple glass open, uncluttered, collector tubes connect directly into heat exchanger ensuring maximum efficiency. No possibility of pump failure and consequential system failure. Aluminum purpose made corrosion and maintenance free support structure and stainless tank. No possibility of ugly rust marks on the roof in future. Open glass tubes are open, without any heat-pipes or other interference. Open tubes ensure consistent performance from the in-house production line or manufacture to many years after installation. No question of some tubes performing better than others or not performing at all. No danger of scaling on copper or need for maintenance replacement components. Freezing is normally prevented by using a degradable anti freeze heat transfer fluid. Our system uses water which is automatically replenished, enabling consistent, optimum system performance. We do not have to add any heat transfer fluid as part of our maintenance program. Direct & not freeze resistant systems can only be sold in frost free areas, as can be seen from the map below this is a very small percentage of the country.
