Metal’lum Engineering has its origins in the coal industry from the mid 60’s as SAIT Engineering which used manufacture and refurbish underground equipment. The company then moved into the crushing and screening market from the early 90’s with concentrated efforts into Africa. In 1999, we began to export into the Middle East where over the next several years we were the market leader in Horizontal Shaft Impactors with over 400 units supplied without a single failure. With the world market ever changing, we began to refocus on the Sub-Sahara market and develop our own range of South African made modular equipment made in our works in Johannesburg. Tom has been involved in the Crushing & Screening industry since the mid 80’s and has built up considerable knowledge in applications engineering with a specialization in impact crushers. He has been involved in a wide range of applications around the world. Carlo as our general manager has years of experience in the manufacturing field and as well as in the financial world. Max started in the workshop working the CNC profile cutter and since leads the project management function. He has an NQF7 Project Management Certificate from Wits Business school and is currently studying a BSc in Mineral Extraction Technology from the University of Derby. He is also currently a member of the Institute of Quarrying South Africa. Our value proposition is to offer coast effective skid based modular crushing and screening solutions from 10tph for small to medium operations having to operate under the current economic trading environment as well as offer a refurbishment facility for our clients. Our works are able to refurbishment most items you will find on a quarry with a particular emphasis on the maintenance and repair of old and damaged rotors. We supply all the spares and wear parts of the equipment that we supply as well as for other major manufacturers. At Metal’lum Engineering, we pride ourselves our supplying our clients with practical solutions that meet their needs. With our in house design team, we are able to provide sound applications engineering to the crushing and screening sector that is cost effective and practical. These demands include structures, chutes, barrels, mixers and many other items that we can manufacture to our high standards. Our factory based in Meadowdale, Johannesburg is a self sufficient operation encompassing design, engineering, machining, profiling, fabrication and assembly disciplines in house.
