The tests included IQ, memory functions, new learning abilities, information processing ability and speed plus many other tests of the brain. At the time of the accident the NZ Fire Service did not exist. Being Xmas Eve, the medical officer in charge of Auckland Hospital limited the testing of people to blood pressure, temperature and a visual examination. Sweat, high fevers, nightmares and hallucinations day and night. Severe, sometimes unbearable bone and muscle aches, severe energy lose, multiple organ problems, vision problems, speech problems, palpitations, and many more. This history could be measured against current testing to prove the effects. The Medical profession didn’t know how to treat us and by now months had passed and we were still the same. A medical doctor and homeopath Dr. Tizard came forward and offered an unknown type of treatment that he had been using for other health issues. Tens of thousands of mgs would have to be taken orally to achieve the same effect,but would damage the liver. After the first week of the treatment there was a noticable improvement. The end result was, further damage and spread of the chemicals to other organs was stopped, the aches etc went. The brain damage was permanent and in 1990, 6yrs after the fire it was assessed at 60% loss of cerebral function. Two of the other fire-fighters affected who did not have the Vitamin C treatment weren’t so lucky. Both of them had two healthy existing children before the fire. We talk about the Healthpointe programme being able to unlock our metabolism’s weight set point and reset it again to the new weight at the end of the programme. The only one that has been successful for me is Healthpointe and it has many more important benefits than just weight loss and resetting the metabolism. As a foot note, Dr Tizard who administered the Vitamin C, was struck off the medical register for doing that treatment back then.
