Thea's approach to food is simple: fresh, seasonal and generous. The main menu represents authentic and robust Portuguese flavours, expertly executed in true Portuguese Mediterranean style. Expect beautifully presented food to tickle all the senses. A good variety of vegetarian options are available with fresh and modern taste combinations. Tuck into the Inferno with roast butternut, sweet peppers, olives, danish feta with sesame, poppy and pumpkin seeds, or have a cheese explosion with the Quatro Formaggi with mozzarella, gorgonzola, smoked provolone and pecorino. We are situated in the leafy Historic Village in Modderfontein in a Heritage Manor House rich with history. Young and old are catered for under our famous two Oak trees outside, under the recently renovated covered patio next to Oakes Brew House, inside the manor house or on its spacious Veranda. For private functions and corporate events, retreat to the Bedouin Garden Tent behind the restaurant. There is a rustic playground for the youngsters and adult supervision is compulsory. The venue can cater for up to 900 people at a time, but you will never feel crowded as the tables are generously spaced apart. On weekends, we host different live musicians that entertain the family crowds as they enjoy the relaxing atmosphere (refer to our homepage for the live music line-up). We do not accept any responsibility for any loss, damage or injury due to any cause whatsoever. For their safety, no children are allowed on the tent structures or music stage. Keep your dogs on a leash and practice the they-pooh-you-pick-up rule. Our unique Bubble Bread varieties come from our wood-fired pizza oven. Our popular family restaurant has ample seating, of which the most popular is under our two majestic Oak Trees. We provide great live music from top local artists on most weekends to enhance your visit with us! Have an outside function but still crave our flavours? Permanently set under the trees and seats up to 300 people on picnic benches. Bring your own music and dance the night away on the built-in dance floor.
