We are a vibrant, based in Modderfontein, non-denominational church, family-focused, contemporary, Johannesburg. We believe that church should be fun & relevant to the community, and God should be the focus of our lives. Our members come from different cultures and ethnic groups.

Together with developing our members, we believe that it is important that each person gets involved in a ministry to build the house of God. We exist to impact lives in our communities, reaching one suburb at a time, and doing our part in seeing a spiritual awakening and transformation occur in the lives of the people of Buccleuch, Johannesburg, and in the nations beyond. Those attending services at Solid soon feel the powerful presence of God drawing them into a closer relationship with Him and those around them. Our services are devoted to sound biblical teaching, personal ministry and a contemporary style of worship. We believe that the church is called to be a family and not just an organization, hence we provide an informal atmosphere to promote genuine relationships with the Lord and with one another. We also have a children’s ministry, where care is given to each child. Our dedicated team of volunteers create a platform for much fun and entertainment, while bringing the Bible to life, and helping our kids understand Biblical truths. Our Youth Ministry is committed to raising a generation that is Word-based, unashamed of the Gospel of Christ, and confident in who they are. Ps Ivor Temlett is the senior Pastor at Solid together with his wife Hilary. Prior to becoming a Pastor in the early years of his life he was in the building and construction industry and also in teaching. After his seminary studies he went on to pastor Central Community Fellowship in the inner city of Johannesburg. He was the senior Pastor of CCF for the majority of his full time ministry. The church experienced much growth and eventually had difficulty accommodating the rapidly increasing number of members. He then took on a new role as a Overseer of the churches via an oversight body known as the FCC (Fellowship of Community Churches). Solid Community Church was one of the churches multiplied out of his ministry in the inner city. It is here where he has recently taken the role of Senior Pastor while still maintaining his fathering through the FCC. Apart from the FCC, he also forms part of the leadership of another body known as the Global Apostolic Partnership (GAP) together with other pastors and leaders. He often travels locally and internationally to strengthen and encourage pastors and leaders through GAP. His roles in these regards are that of a pastor to pastors, bringing much needed help to many ministries and leaders. He has a heart for people and has relationships with people from all walks of life. He is a shepherd at heart and ministers with authority and enthusiasm. His preaching is always simple to understand, down to earth and filled with humor. He is assisted by a team of strategic leaders in major decision making and brings with him various kinds of wisdom and experience to Solid. Ps Michael-John is ordained as an Associate Pastor at Solid. He has been in active full time ministry since 2006, initially heading up the youth ministry. Ps Michael-John has a passion for people and brings to the pastoral function a tremendous shepherding ability. He is well rounded in his experience as a minister and has successfully mentored many leaders to Christian maturity. He is currently responsible for the shepherding function of the congregation. Pastor Michael-John ministers strongly in the areas of evangelism and the prophetic. He has travelled both locally and internationally on many of our mission trips and has also spoken in various events in Johannesburg and other provinces.
